After some soul-searching and momentary deliberation at UB Hacking 2018, I made up my mind to build an app that would not only compete for the Wegmans' award but also compete for the ValueCentric and M&T bank awards. This decision turned out to be for the best, because my app, Ambrosia, received awards from all three sponsors — recognizing the lack of sleep and hard work I put into getting the app functional. Ambrosia is an all in one, meal planner, recipe book, and virtual assistant. It was built with React Native and the Wegmans API.

Ambrosia allows you to:

  • browse and search for recipes
  • add recipes to your favorites
  • track your daily calorie count
  • get nutritional facts about meals
  • get purchase info about meals
  • plan meals ahead of time

Ambrosia also has voice functionality, you can plan meals for certain dates, check your calorie count, and get the nutritional facts, all with the tap of a button and a few words.
